With how great Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is playing right now, you could be forgiven if you forgot that he was coming back from a season-ending wrist injury.

Burrow is atop the league in touchdowns thrown (12), second in completion percentage (72.3%) and is in the top five for Expected Points Added per play, completion percentage above expectation, and success rate.

Even he can't deny that he's lighting it up , but there's also another level he plans on reaching in time.

Joe Burrow reveals how his wrist is still limiting him

Burrow admitted Wednesday to reporters that while he's playing the best football of his career, he revealed that he still is working through his injury and wants find another level as he gets healthier.

"I'm still not quite throwing it the way that I would like," Burrow said during his weekly press conference. "You know, I'm making good decisions. I'm putting the ball where I want to. I still think there's another level of improvement that I can get to come back from injury, from ball location and spin rate and all that. So that's going to continue to get better as I get healthier. There's always another level to find."

It's been over 10 months since Burrow went down with an injury to his throwing wrist, and he's still not completely himself. A to Z Sports learned earlier this year that with his injury, inflammation will be a factor to watch for the 12 months that followed surgery, but throwing would be easier as time advances.

Burrow has also remained on the team's official injury report throughout this season. He's always been a full participant, but the team has to list any and all players who receive some form of treatment during practice. Burrow is still performing maintenance on the wrist that's worth $275 million.

This is about the most expansive Burrow has gotten about how his injury has limited him since his recovery, ball rotation and spin rate and all. The fifth-year quarterback has not yet said that he feels 100% healthy, but clearly is doing enough to put up points and get the ball where it needs to go. Even if the ball isn't a tight spiral.

His receivers are also on the same page.

"Yeah, I told them they might have to catch a couple wobblers this year until we get back," Burrow said with a smile. "That's part of coming back from injury."

Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins can't complain as each are coming off fantastic performances against the Baltimore Ravens. Chase is averaging nearly 100 yards a game and is tied for first in touchdowns (5). Higgins has two touchdowns and 182 yards in just three games played thus far.

The Bengals' offense is far from the biggest issue in Cincinnati, and it's mainly due to Burrow playing tremendously. That he isn't even throwing exactly how he'd like want to just makes his start to the year even more impressive.
