The Philadelphia Eagles announced two roster moves on Thursday.

The team brought back tight end C.J. Uzomah, signing him to the practice squad. And in a corresponding move, the Eagles released safety Caden Sterns.

Uzomah initially signed with the Eagles back at the start of NFL free agency in March with hopes of bouncing back from an MCL injury that he had suffered playing with the New York Jets last fall. But after Uzomah failed to outshine his competition in training camp, the Eagles cut him a week before finalizing their 53-man roster ahead of the season.

The former 2015 fifth-round draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals is in his 10th NFL season and has 192 receptions for 1,881 yards and 16 touchdowns to his name so far.

Before coming to Philly, Uzomah caught 29 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns over his last two seasons with the Jets.

While Uzomah is a great depth piece to keep around, the Eagles have a solid tight end room featuring Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, and Jack Stoll.

The Eagles enter Week 6 fresh off a bye with hopes of bouncing back against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
