The Indianapolis Colts were able to get multiple key players back on the practice field this week.

Unfortunately, star running back Jonathan Taylor was not one of those players, and the Colts announced his official status for Week 6.

This will be Taylor's second straight missed game after suffering a high ankle sprain near the end of the team's Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Last week, against the team's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the run game severely missed Taylor's dynamic ability out of the backfield. Taylor leads the team with 349 yards and four rushing touchdowns and has gone for over 100 yards from scrimmage in three of his four games to start the 2024 season.

Last week, without Taylor and Anthony Richardson, the Colts were only able to combine for 99 rushing yards between Trey Sermon, Tyler Goodson, and Joe Flacco (who had 22 yards on the day). Sermon served as the starter last week and led the team with ten carries, 38 yards, and one rushing touchdown. With Taylor out this week as well, I expect the Colts to have a more balanced attack between Sermon and Goodson in Week 6. And if Richardson can play, that will be a major boost, as the Titans' defense will have no choice but to respect his ability as a runner.
