Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has been fined for a second time this season.

The NFL has fined Chase $19,697 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct (violent gesture)  during the Bengals' Week 5 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Earlier in the week, Chase learned of his fine and took to X/Twitter to express his discontent about it.

    Clearly, an appeal could follow.

The fine was for what Chase did after the first of two touchdowns he scored against Baltimore. It's unclear what exact "violent" gesture Chase made after his 41-yard score.

This is the second time the league has fined Chase this year. He was docked for over $30,000 back in Week 2 for using " abusive language " towards a referee during the Bengals' loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chase appealed that ruling, and lost. If this second fine is maintained, the league will have cost him about $50,000 after just five games.

The Bengals enter Week 6 with a 1-4 record, clinging on to life in early October. They'll look to get a primetime win against the New York Giants on " Sunday Night Football ."
