Ohio State suffered a close 32-31 loss in Week 7 to Oregon that ended their perfect season to date . A back and forth game with both teams putting up numbers on the offensive side of the football.

The Buckeyes gave up 496 yards of offense on a tough night for the defense and it was too much to overcome in the end. In the passing game alone, the Buckeyes surrendered 341 yards. It was a night to forget for Denzel Burke and the cornerback group to forget overall.

One future member of the Ohio State secondary sent a message to Buckeye Nation following the result of the game. Five-star cornerback commit Devin Sanchez took to X (Twitter) to say that he is just a few months away.

Sanchez, along with Na’eem Offord, gives the Buckeyes two five-star talents in the current class that are set to arrive in Columbus for next season. Still, that will not help the Buckeyes this season with the high expectations that they have.

“This one is gonna hurt. It does hurt,” head coach Ryan Day said after the Big Ten loss on the road . “ (We) should have won the game. Give Oregon credit. They played well. Too many things we could have done better in the game that we didn't. A lot of football ahead of us. We’ve got to get those things fixed.”

The Buckeyes led 28-22 heading into the fourth quarter and had a chance to win the game with one final offensive drive. While driving the football, quarterback Will Howard attempted to slide just as time expired in Oregon territory. Ohio State was unable to call a timeout before the clock struck zero.

It was a game where the Buckeyes walked away likely feeling like they beat themselves more than anything. In the grand scheme of things, that does not matter at all. With the expanded College Football Playoff, one loss is not going to hurt the Buckeyes a ton. Still, it should raise the urgency around the program a ton for the current season.

The story implies that Buckeyes beat themselves? I would say they played as good a game as Oregon. Oregon had some mistakes, too. I saw it as a good game it could have gone either way. As for polls, they should just flip. I hope they meet again in the Big 10 Championship! Thanks for the exciting game Ohio! BTW, I hope Holden is kicked from the team.

Knowles standard D isn't geared for an offense with that talent and speed at WR; man coverage with little to no help over the top from S's and an anemic rush, when they actually rushed more than 4 in 2nd half, the QB couldn't throw under the pressure and then the rest of the half they regressed back to the first half, stop with the pressure
