The New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos are both in a similar boat, entering Week 7. The two will face off on Thursday Night Football, but both teams are coming off of tough divisional losses. The Saints were walloped by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Denver fell to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6.

Accordingly, both squads will want to get back on track. Then, of course, there's the Sean Payton aspect of this upcoming clash. He will most certainly want to beat his former long-time team, and the Saints will want to do the same back to him.

Broncos star dealing with notable injury

Denver's top defensive back Patrick Surtain II would have been a "did not practice'" designation if the Broncos would have practiced Monday. He is dealing with a concussion.

According to James Palmer, Surtain's chances of playing Thursday are very slim.

Surtain is arguably the top cornerback in football. There are few CBs who rival his coverage ability, and he is the spoon that stirs the drink in Denver's secondary.

For New Orleans, they would much rather face a Denver defensive unit without its star cornerback, rather than with him. Not to mention, Spencer Rattler is expected to make his second NFL start. Facing Surtain would have been his biggest challenge on Thursday evening.

The Saints had a laundry list of designations from their estimated injury report on Monday, too.

Saints WR Chris Olave was a DNP, also due to a concussion. WR Rashid Shaheed was in the same boat of estimated participation, alongside LB Pete Werner or OL Cesar Ruiz.

    Taysom Hill's potential return

Taysom Hill was listed as limited, though. After not practicing at all over the past two weeks. That is growth for the utility weapon on the Saints offense.

You know that New Orleans would love to use Taysom plenty against Payton after his years of praise for Hill.
