Ohio State offensive playmaker they picked up in the transfer portal to miss time after injury vs. Oregon

The hits are still coming for the Ohio State Buckeyes following their first loss of the season coming against Oregon on the road .

After it already being known that the Buckeyes would be without left tackle Josh Simmons for the season , they will now be without tight end Will Kacmarek for some time. Ryan Day confirmed the news on both players Monday evening.

Kacmarek made a big 32-yard catch across the middle of the field for Ohio State early on against the Ducks. The promising news is that it isn’t a serious injury and that it appears to be just a week-to-week thing. Gee Scott Jr. will continue to be the team’s top tight end and Bennett Christian will now need to step up against Nebraska at least. So far, Ohio State has not heavily targeted the tight end position this season.

It is notable that the Buckeyes have a game against Penn State on Nov. 2. The second bye week gives an extra week between now and then with no game, so Kacmarek will have that going for him. Ohio State will need to be as healthy as possible for that tough road game.

After transferring over from the Ohio Bobcats, Kacmarek has five catches for 58 yards so far this season. Scott is the leading right end in terms of receiving with 65 yards and a touchdown.

In promising news, running back Quinshon Judkins will be fine and miss no time. Considering how much Ohio State runs the ball between Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson, that is huge news.

Ohio State will play Nebraska at home on Oct. 26 at home. They will be off this week after the 32-31 loss to Oregon.
