The Tennessee Vols appear to be the team to beat for an elite 2027 four-star in-state recruit.

Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney suggested this week that Tennessee is the "front-runner" for 2027 four-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman.

"After an 'amazing' experience at Tennessee in its overtime thriller over Florida, the Volunteers are the front-runner in Bowman’s recruitment," wrote Gorney.

Bowman, 6-foot-1/170 lbs from Brentwood, TN (Brentwood Academy), is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 70 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Miami, Vanderbilt, and Missouri are also in the mix for the talented four-star wide receiver ( Bowman pointed out Ole Miss and Tennessee as his top two schools in June).

Bowman is teammates at Brentwood Academy with 2025 four-star quarterback George MacIntyre, who has been committed to Tennessee since late January.

MacIntyre threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Bowman in Brentwood Academy's game against Knoxville Catholic last week (Vols head coach Josh Heupel was in attendance).

Tennessee doesn't currently have any players committed to its 2027 recruiting class.
