Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce lays down the hammer on the reality of not having Davante Adams now

The Las Vegas Raiders have a very thin wide receiver room right now. After the last game, Tre Tucker was the wide receiver one, not because he was the best wide receiver, but because everyone was hurt. Hopefully, this week isn't the same with that position group. And, it certainly doesn't help them all that Davante Adams will never be back from his injury with the Raiders.

On Tuesday morning the Las Vegas Raiders traded away Davante Adams to the New York Jets for a conditional third-round pick that can become a second-rounder based on Adams hitting some certain marks this season. So, in a way, the Raiders are being forced to cheer Adams on for a good season.

But, with the Raiders, I guess the most recent question is what's next? What do they do now with this offense, one that was already bad with Adams, one of the best wide receivers in the league?

“Next man up, business as usual," Antonio Pierce said to the media on Wednesday. "You never can replace an All-Pro receiver like Davante. We’re not trying to, we’re trying to be the best version of ourselves. We didn't have him the last few weeks. We're fine."

I don't know if I would say fine, personally. They were without him the last two games and not only did the offense struggle in both, but they lost both games. Sure, they beat the Cleveland Browns without him, but they are beat up and going through their own issues at the moment.

As for the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers, the offense was terrible. So, I wouldn't say they are fine, but, the reality is, they have to be fine. They can't sit and pout about it. They have to roll up their sleeves and get to work.

Hopefully, they do that against the Los Angeles Rams and then the Kansas City Chiefs in these next two games.
