Possible Will Levis replacement for Titans at QB announces that he would love to play with DeAndre Hopkins

The Tennessee Titans' 2024 NFL season is not exactly going according to plan. The team is 1-4 through the first five games. Will Levis is struggling. Now they have to go play the Buffalo Bills (4-2) and Detroit Lions (4-1) on the road in back to back weeks. Unfortunately, the Titans are well on their way to a 1-6 record to start the year and a very likely early pick slot in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft next spring.

Apparently one big name quarterback prospect eligible for next spring's 2025 NFL Draft has taken notice and already went out of his way to suggest that he might like to play for the Tennessee Titans next year--or at least with one of their star wide receivers.

Shedeur Sanders--famous starting quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes--and his legendary "Prime Time" father Deion Sanders were guesting on ALL THE SMOKE with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson this week and were presented with a fun question. "Give me a dream wide receiver that you would want to throw to, Shedeur." Here's what Sanders (and his father) had to say:

    Shedeur: "[DeAndre] Hopkins."

    Deion: "Who?"

    Shedeur: "D-Hop."

Deion: "You like D-Hop? Come on dog...Well, fashion. That's what that's about."

Shedeur: "No! It ain't about fashion. It don't got nothing to do with that."

Deion: "It's about fashion, because he's into fashion like that. That's what that is."

Shedeur: "No it don't. Nah. Nah. D-Hop though. That's who I want. I definitely want to play with [DeAndre Hopkins]."

It doesn't sound like Deion Sanders thinks too highly of DeAndre Hopkins these days--at least the 32-year-old version. Shedeur Sanders, on the other hand, seems to believe D-Hop's still got it, and would love to throw to him. The problem is, right now, nobody knows where DeAndre Hopkins is going to be playing next year.

The Titans could choose to re-sign DeAndre Hopkins following this season since he has been their most productive wide receiver by a wide margin over the last two years. However, there's also active rumors swirling that the Tennessee Titans might be looking to trade him ahead of the deadline this fall.

Unfortunately, recent trade action involving both Amari Cooper (to the Bills) and Davante Adams (to the Jets) have taken two potential trade partners away from the Titans if they are looking to move Hopkins. The Titans may be left with him for the remainder of the year whether they want to be or not. But it wouldn't be too terrible if Hopkins was actually re-signed following this year either. Regardless of who the quarterback is for the Titans in 2025 Hopkins' experience and reliability could be a huge plus.

Hopkins will be 33 years old next summer and has perhaps lost a step or two. However, if Hopkins' presence means that young quarterbacks like Shedeur Sanders actually want to come play for Tennessee? Bringing him back might not be the end of the world.
