Las Vegas Raiders make roster move and bolster defensive depth before matchup vs. Rams

The Las Vegas Raiders are trying to do whatever they can to get their roster back to where it needs to be. With the enormous amount of injuries this team has, the roster is very depleted, on both sides. You have your best player in Maxx Crosby banged up, but playing through it, and then you have the pieces around him that he needs are hurt, too.

Christian Wilkins, the Raiders big time signing this offseason, is hurt for at least four weeks if not more. Malcolm Koonce is done for the season, Tyree Wilson has been banged up, and Marcus Epps is also done for the year. Divine Deablo just played his first game since Week 2.

The offensive side is just as bad with the offensive line injuries and the receiving corps is hurt, too. But the defense, man, there is a reason the unit wasn't able to replicate the top-five defense they had last year.

So, going into their game against the Los Angeles Rams, after a tough loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, they have made a roster move that should help them bolster depth, if they need it on game day.

Last week Divine Deablo came back, but his replacement the week before, rookie Tommy Eichenberg, was out. On Wednesday, the team signed another linebacker in case things start to go bad and they need the depth.

According to the team's PR team, the team signed former Baylor Bear linebacker Blake Lynch to the practice squad.

Lynch was recruited out of high school for his athletic abilities and potential on the defensive side of the ball. As a linebacker, Lynch's primary role was to defend against the run and pass, often making tackles, blocking passing lanes, and sometimes rushing the quarterback. The Raiders liked what they saw on film enough to bring him on the practice squad.
