The Ohio State Buckeyes landed two top quarterbacks in the 2024 class and will add 5-star Tavien St. Clair in 2025. However, they've yet to add an elite option in the 2026 class. The Buckeyes received a shot of hope on Thursday as Nashville's Jared Curtis announced his decommitment from the Georgia Bulldogs.

Curtis, a 6'3", 225-pound quarterback with ties to South Carolina, is a highly regarded prospect. He's ranked as a five-star recruit and the No. 3 quarterback for 2026 by 247 Sports and On3.

On Thursday, it was revealed that Curtis had shifted his focus to other schools, with six catching his attention. Among them are the Ohio State Buckeyes, alongside the Alabama Crimson Tide, Clemson Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, and Big Ten rivals Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans.

Though 2026 is still a way off, and circumstances can change, the Ohio State Buckeyes currently hold a favorable position in the race for Curtis, boasting a 52.8 percent chance according to On3's recruiting prediction model.

This season, playing for Nashville Christian, Curtis has shown impressive stats: completing 106 of 156 passes for 1,624 yards, 18 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. Overall, MaxPreps reports that in less than three seasons, he has amassed 6,459 passing yards and 70 touchdowns.

If Ohio State secures Curtis, it will add a quarterback who has excelled at the high school level since his freshman year.
