Every Saturday during the NFL season, some players receive an unwanted gift in the form of a fine for an action from the previous game.

That is the case for two Cleveland Browns players from their 20-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles . The league opted to fine linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and offensive lineman Michael Dunn.

Owusu-Koramoah was fined $20,900 for an unnecessary roughness penalty for the use of his helmet. It happened in the second quarter when JOK attempted to make a tackle and lowered his head, according to the NFL.

Dunn was fined for unnecessary roughness as well in the way of a face mask. That penalty will cost the backup offensive lineman $7,181.

Cleveland was not the only side fined in the ball game either. The NFL handed down a $45,020 fine to Eagles running back Saquon Barkley for lowering his head and Isaiah Rodgers for unnecessary roughness. Barkley gets the heftiest fine from the game.

Owusu-Koramoah recorded another good game against the Eagles, but he will have 20,000 reasons to not lower his head going forward. The NFL is putting emphasis on the use of the helmet and that is clear each and every Saturday when these fines are handed down. It is the first time that the NFL has fined the Browns linebacker this season.

The star linebacker is having a strong season and is playing like a top-five linebacker in football. Following his contract extension, Owusu-Koramoah has not slacked off at al l. The same contract extension will help him out in this situation.

Cleveland hosts the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7 and the Browns will need another strong showing from Owusu-Koramoah against a very good offense from Cincinnati.
