Things are trending upward for Minnesota Vikings star ahead of Sunday's game vs. Lions

According to The Minnesota Star Tribune's Ben Goessling , running back Aaron Jones is expected to play on Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Lions. Jones was listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report but was trending to play after practicing on Thursday and Friday.

This would be great news for the Vikings who missed Jones in a big way two weeks ago against the New York Jets. He injured his hamstring during pregame warmups and tried to play through it. He came off the field after catching a double move from Nick Mullens on third and four after Sam Darnold left the field for a play.

This season, Jones has been excellent for the Vikings this season. He has ran for 350 yards at just under 5.0 yards per carry. He also has the second-highest success rate of his career at 60.6%, a shade under the 62.0% he posted on 142 carries in 2023.

It's not just the baseline stats, it's also how much better the Vikings have been with him on the field. Their EPA/play is 0.21 points higher when he is on the field versus off. If he does play, it will make things much easier for the Vikings to win on Sunday.
