Martha Jane’s Jams & Jellies holds jam-making workshop at Pretoria Fields Brewing
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The owner of Martha Jane’s Jams & Jellies is making sure that the art of jam-making never dies out. Martha Bowden held a jam-making workshop at Pretoria Fields Brewery on Saturday, July 17, from 1-4 p.m. She says that younger and older people are interested in food preservation.
Reward Offered in Tift County Arson Investigation
Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced that a $10,000 reward is being offered in connection with a Tift County arson investigation. On Thursday, July 11, at approximately 5:45 p.m., investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a structure fire on the 4000 block of Emerson O’Bynes Avenue in Tifton. The structure was under construction and not occupied at the time of the fire. Following a thorough investigation, this incident has been classified as incendiary in nature.
Laurens County drug trafficker sentenced to nearly 20 years in federal prison
A Laurens County man has been sentenced to federal prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges. Ricky Rich, 42, of East Dublin, Ga., was sentenced to 228 months in prison after pleading guilty to Distribution of Fentanyl, said Jill E. Steinberg, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. U.S. District Court Judge Dudley H. Bowen also ordered Rich to pay a $2,500 fine and to serve three years of supervised release upon completion of his prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.
