    Springettsbury Township man dies in Route 30 crash in western York County: police

    One person has died after a vehicle crash outside of Abbottstown on Route 30 Monday evening, according to the York County Coroner's office.

    Northern York County Regional Police say a 53-year-old man from Springettsbury Township was killed in the crash. His name has not been released at this time.

    The man was driving a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup eastbound on the Lincoln Highway when it crossed into the westbound lane and collided head on with a tractor-trailer, police said.

    The driver of the 2006 Peterbuilt tractor-trailer, a 46-year-old man from Brampton, Ontario, was not injured, police said.

    Firefighters were called to the scene in the 7000 block of Lincoln Highway, U.S. Route 30, in Paradise Township around 8:16 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024, according to York County 911 records.

    In a release posted shortly before midnight Monday evening, the York County Coroner's office confirmed that the office had responded to the scene for a single fatality.

    The scene is just east of Abbottstown, between School House Road and Lake Road.
