6 injured in crash involving Pace bus, SUV in Zion, police say

An investigation is underway after multiple people were injured in a crash involving a Pace bus and an SUV Wednesday in the north suburbs.

The crash happened around 2:36 p.m. near 22nd Street and Joppa Avenue in Zion, police said.

Six people were injured in the crash, Zion police said. They were taken to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Video of the crash aftermath showed a Pace bus and an SUV seriously damaged at the scene after the collision.

It was not immediately clear how many of the injured people were in which vehicle, police said. Their ages and genders were also not known.

The cause of the crash was not yet known. Zion police continue to investigate.
