    PERMIAN BASIN (KMID/KPEJ) – Here are the top stories from around the Basin for the week ending on May 17th.

    The Midland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead in the 10,000 block of South FM 1788 last weekend. Investigators said the man was found dead from a possible gunshot wound and “foul play is suspected.” You can learn more about this investigation here .

    A future interstate highway that has been the talk of the Basin for several years is slowly becoming a reality for the Midland and Odessa area. We take a closer look at what it takes to turn those talks into a reality. You can learn more here .

    A severe thunderstorm rolled through the Midland-Odessa area on Thursday, causing substantial damage and flooding to infrastructure and property. Take a look at a few of the pictures we got of the storm and damage here .

    The Big Spring Police Department arrested 42-year-old Orlando Montanez after an officer-involved shooting that left a Big Spring officer seriously injured.
