Odessa looks to make traffic changes near Buice Elementary

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – City Officials will be working to upgrade traffic safety near Dr. Lee Buice Elementary School this summer.

Councilmember Greg Connell and Odessa Traffic Safety Supervisor Joseph Goff met this week with Principal Moran to observe traffic concerns during student departure, sharing plans for improvements.

Connell and Goff identified where new signs need to be placed and hope to start counting the cars, evaluating the need for flashing speed signs, during student drop-off and pick-up hours.

Connell said a zoning change will be needed to reduce speed within school drop-off and pick-up times.
