Two arrested following Crane Co diesel theft

CRANE COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Two Cuban citizens were arrested in Crane County early Monday morning, after deputies learned they were trespassing on an oil field lease and stole diesel from a nearby location.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, at about 2 am on Monday, September 9, deputies stopped a white Chevrolet truck at a oil lease off FM 1053. The truck was occupied by two individuals, identified as Yoisbel Banos Gomez and Orlan Corcho Martinez, both citizens of Cuba. During the interviews with both individuals, they admitted to not having permission to be on the oil field lease, also admitting to stealing diesel at a nearby location.

Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Crane County Law Enforcement Center, where they were charged with Criminal Trespass, a Class B Misdemeanor, and Theft of Diesel, a State Jail Felony. With the Texas State Comptroller’s Office, both individuals were also charged with Violation of Motor Fuel Tax Requirements, a Second-Degree Felony.
