ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Two Ector County ISD and a Monahans-Wickett-Pyote ISD graduate were celebrated at a job signing event at Medical Center Hospital on Thursday.

The students are now part of the medical team at MCH, after completing their Texas-certified Nursing Assistant Programs earlier this year as part of ECISD’s “Access Program.” The program aims to help students connect with local industries.

“So today we celebrated three 2024 ECISD graduates that completed a CTE program of study in health science and they participated in a career placement initiative that’s a partnership between the school district access and the workforce board of the Permian Basin,” said Ryan Merritt, Executive Director of Career Technical Education.

“I chose MCH because I feel like the environment as a whole here is everything, just it’s such a good environment they give you such a good- they welcome you in here like I’ve only been on the job three days now and I already feel like I’m a part of the family where all the community we work together I’m so grateful I’m able to go up and help some of my patients,” said Daisy Torres, a Phlebotomist at MCH.
