Highlighting Hope: Latino Social

ODESSA, Texas(KMID/KPEJ)- Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 through October 15 and is a time to pay tribute to Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched not only our nation but our community.

Gisty Vasquez, founder of Latino Social, said she believes in uplifting the community through networking events and social gatherings.

“So we start this organization, we have the podcast, we have networking events, and we have a community. Majorly with our women but we like to support small businesses,” Vasquez said.

Vasquez added that she also understands what life is like for an immigrant in this country.

“We know it’s hard because we have to start from the very bottom when we arrive to this country. I was there too. The message for our community is that you’re not alone, we’re here for you and anything that you need,” said Vasquez

The organization is meant to restore community and promote community engagement.

“We need to uplift our Hispanic community. And they know we are powerful. We are strong. And yes we can do it. We can build businesses. We can have our family here. This is a beautiful–and we love USA because they received us and our families,” said Vasquez.
