MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Midland Crime Stoppers received multiple awards and recognitions at the 2024 Crime Stoppers USA National Conference earlier this month.

Competing in their population size category, Midland Crime Stoppers won “Best Social Media Campaign”, “Best TV Public Service Announcement (PSA)”, and “Best Pring Category”. Midland Crime Stoppers said the awards reflect the outstanding work the organization has done in utilizing various platforms to engage and protect the community.

“Our work is about empowering citizens to report crime anonymously, providing law enforcement with crucial information that helps keep the bad guys off our streets,” said Angie Valenzuela, Executive Director of Midland Crime Stoppers. “While some tipsters are motivated by the cash rewards we offer for information leading to an arrest or case solved, so many simply want to do the right thing and hold criminals accountable for their actions.”

Here’s how much Crime Stoppers has impacted the Midland area

Each year, Crime Stoppers USA encourages member programs to submit for national recognition, showcasing innovative efforts that enhance public safety. Midland Crime Stoppers said its success highlights the program’s commitment to keeping the community and schools safe.

“This national recognition belongs to the entire Midland community, who have helped make Crime Stoppers a successful and essential tool for ensuring a safer place for all of us,” added Angie Valenzuela.

Midland Crime Stoppers added that it will continue expanding its efforts, combining community engagement with law enforcement collaboration to combat crime. You can learn more about Midland Crime Stoppers or submit a tip on the Midland Crime Stoppers website .
