Five vehicle crash causes traffic backup, power outage

KERMIT, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – A five vehicle crash resulted in a traffic backup and power outage in Kermit Thursday evening.

According to the Kermit Police Department, a five-vehicle accident has partially closed the intersection of Jim Sharp Boulevard and Highway 302. The crash has also pulled electrical lines down, causing a power outage.

KPD is advising drivers to exercise caution as traffic continues to back up in the area. Drivers are also being advised to remain patient and safe, using alternate routes if possible.
