MISD releases new renderings of planned high school campuses

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Midland Independent School district released new renderings of the new Midland High School and Legacy High School campuses, both of which were approved by voters in the November 2023 bond election.

MISD said both campuses will provide improved facilities to support enhanced safety and security, while also accommodating enrollment growth and allowing the implementation of grade reconfiguration.

Each new campus looks to expand core curriculum spaces, classrooms, athletics, and fine arts spaces. The planned campuses will feature a 4,200 core student capacity and a 3,800 academic student capacity.

MISD said the current MHS campus is over functional capacity by 25.8 percent. Groundbreaking of the new campus is scheduled for the summer of 2025. There will be no change to attendance zones. You can learn more about the new Midland High School campus on the MISD Bond 2023 website here .
