    Man killed in Martin Co after crashing into back of semi

    MARTIN COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – An Oklahoma man was killed in a crash with a semi-truck early Thursday morning.

    According to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, at about 6:45 am on Thursday, September 26, a 1993 Kenworth truck with trailer was stopped on State Highway 176, attempting to turn on to County Road 3600. A 2012 Hyundai Elantra was travelling behind the semi-truck when the driver failed to control his speed and hit the trailer of the semi from behind.

    Local officials provide tips to prevent semi-truck crashes

    44-year-old Dee Jay Moler, of Westville, Oklahoma, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigation showed Moler was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. This crash remains under investigation.
