2 Permian students accused of rape

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Two Permian High School students were arrested late last week after investigators said two 15-year-old girls made sexual assault outcries. Jacob Espinoza and Adrian Rodriguez have been charged with Sexual Assault of a Child, a second-degree felony.

According to an Odessa Police Department report, on September 25, two girls reported that they’d been sexually assaulted by two classmates after school. The girls said they visited a home on 31st Street and began drinking with Espinoza and Rodriguez. The teens later became intoxicated and began to feel sick and that’s when things apparently escalated.

One of the girls told investigators that Espinoza pulled down her pants and underwear and began to assault her in the bathroom while the other 15-year-old girl told investigators that Rodriguez removed her underwear and raped her. The teen said she tried to fight against Rodriguez but blacked out because she was so intoxicated. A forensic medical exam reportedly confirmed visible trauma from the assault.

Investigators said when they searched the home, they found other evidence to support the girls’ account of events. Both Espinoza and Rodriguez were arrested and booked into the Ector County Law Enforcement Center; they’ve since been released, each on a $35,000 bond.
