Pfluger presents local non-profit director with ‘Employee of the Year’

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Congressman August Pfluger went to “West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind” to present the Employee of the Year award to the group’s director on Thursday. The non-profit organization helps blind and visually impaired people through employment, education, and advocacy.

“Well, it’s great to be at the West Texas Lighthouse for the Blind. This is not my first stop to a facility like this, but coming here today to present an award to a great leader, somebody who’s put their heart and soul into helping and, you know, not just manufacturing things that are needed, but also helping those that are visually impaired that have the ability to now have a job and to do some great things. And so I love this part of the job because you really get to see the best of the community,” said Pfluger.

A big congratulations to Dave Wells for winning Employee of the Year. Congressman Pfluger said he will be setting up a tour for Wells and his family to tour the capitol building in Washington D.C.
