1 dead, 1 injured after Fayetteville shooting on Edgehill Road

A shooting in Fayetteville Saturday night left one man dead and another injured.

It happened just before 11 p.m. in the 700 block of Edgehill Road.

Officers found two men with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Police said 18-year-old Ajay Whidbee later died from his injuries.

Additional information will be released when available.

This comes in the wake of a fatal shooting at a Fayetteville hookah lounge on Saturday morning, as well as another in Cumberland County.

I’d like to know what was going on at that Airbnb that led to the shooting. How many other acts of violence or even general rowdiness that disturb the peace happen at other places like this in otherwise quiet neighborhoods? I’ll pray for the victims including the neighbors living nearby who were also affected by stray bullets that otherwise would not have grazed them had this incident never happened.
