Raw milk sold in Central Pennsylvania tests positive for E. coli

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is warning consumers to discard raw milk that tested positive for E. coli bacteria.

According to the Department of Agriculture, consumers who purchased Meadow View Jerseys brand raw milk between August 5 and August 12 should immediately discard it due to E. coli contamination.

The raw milk was sold in plastic gallon, half-gallon, quart, and pint containers and had a sell-by date of August 19. The milk was sold from the farm’s store in Leola and a number of other retail stores in south-central Pennsylvania.

The farm contacted wholesale and retail stores that distributed the contaminated milk.
