CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A man is wanted for allegedly raping a Cumberland County hotel employee in February.

Lower Allen Township Police issued an arrest warrant on Aug. 7 for 28-year-old Michael Cates, of Millersville, on felony charges of rape and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse along with misdemeanor charges of indecent assault without the consent of another person, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another person and access device fraud, online court documents say.

According to the police report, the alleged rape happened at the Courtyard Marriott, located at 4921 Gettysburg Road, on Feb. 11.

Police said while the woman was working at the hotel bar, Cates had her bring food and drinks to his room. After bringing him food, Cates later wanted more be brought to him.

When she got to his room, police said that Cates grabbed her arm and pulled her inside then he “forced himself” on her and threatened her if she left.

The woman was able to provide a description to police who also learned that Cates used a fake name to rent out the room at the hotel. Police said they were able to get surveillance photos of Cates and matched those with arrest photos to identify him as the suspect.
