HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A case about a missing hunter, last seen in 1985 in Huntingdon County, still has no answers and state police are hoping someone may still know something.

On Nov. 11, 1985, 64-year-old Emerson Carbaugh went hunting with a family member along SR913, approximately two miles south of Robertsdale, state police said. He was reportedly last seen around 4:30 p.m. when he and his family member split up and took different paths in the woods.

It was reported to state police that when the family member went to meet back up with Emerson, he couldn’t be found.

Over the next several days, an extensive search took place for Emerson but no clues to his disappearance were found.

Emerson was described as a white male and was 64 at the time — he would be 103 if still alive out there today. At the time of his disappearance, he was five foot nine and weighed 180 pounds. He had red hair and brown eyes with scars on his face from a rare skin disease.

A Remington 870 pump action shotgun was reported to be with him when he disappeared.

Anyone with information on the 1985 disappearance of Emers Carbaugh is asked to contact PSP Tips at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online by clicking here .

Rusty West featured this case on his missing persons channel on YouTube. At the time he went missing, according to Rusty's information that he had, over 1800 searchers looked for this guy ,not a trace was ever found. which is beyond understanding.idk if David Paulides has this case in his missing 411series or books he's written.
