HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) – The fall season will kick off at Hershey Gardens with its annual Bug-O-Rama event Sunday, September 8.

Organizers of the event say this year’s will feature multiple unique insects from around the world! abc27 met some of them on Daybreak.

Bug-O-Rama will include tarantulas, mantises, scorpions, jungle nymphs, cockroaches, walking sticks and so much more.

Small reptiles will also be on display, such as snakes, frogs and geckos!

“You can get tickets ahead of time on our website or at the door. It’s a family friendly event that features all different kinds of bugs from all over the world,” said Jody Santos, Manager of Conservatory Habitats at Hershey Gardens.

Santos said the goal of Bug-O-Rama each year is to familiarize families with insects to make them less scary or intimidating. She said learning how they benefit our ecosystem is a way to do that.

Special guests this year include Ryan “The Bug Man” Bridge with a collection of live and preserved insects and arachnids, and PA Bat Rescue with live bats. Other guests will also be in attendance.
