    Young boy dies after being pulled from pond at Pennsylvania park, police investigating

    CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A tragedy happened at a Chester County park on Labor Day when a young child died after being pulled from a pond, according to police, who are investigating the incident.

    A three-year-old boy at Wilson Farm Park was reported missing to police before 7 p.m. on Sept. 2, Tredyffrin Township Police wrote in a news release . Officers learned that a nanny was looking after the child before they went missing.

    After arriving, police began looking for the child around the area in the park where he was last reportedly seen.

    The boy was found unresponsive in a pond by a patrol officer, and was pulled out, police wrote. Right away, officers began resuscitation efforts and the boy was hurried to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), King of Prussia Campus for treatment but he later died, police wrote.

    “On behalf of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department, we are deeply saddened by this tragic event, and we send our deepest condolences to the child’s family,” police wrote in a statement.
