LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Neglected dogs were seized from a Lancaster County property by SPCA officials Wednesday, and an investigation into the alleged animal abuse is underway.

Police were contacted by neighbors regarding the neglect of several puppies and their mothers at a residence along W. Burkholder Drive in Clay Township, according to a news release.

After arriving, police said they found four puppies, along with their mothers, that were in need of immediate medical attention. The SPCA took the dogs and sent them to a local emergency veterinary clinic for treatment.
