(WHTM) — If you are heading to Happy Valley Saturday to root on the Penn State Nittany Lions as they take on the Bowling Green Falcons for their home opener, or if you are planning on just traveling elsewhere, then you’ll want to keep tabs on how traffic is flowing.

Thankfully, to help drivers stay up to date with the latest traffic changes, the Shapiro Administration announced changes to 511pa’s website and app to enhance it.

A special webpage for Penn State’s home games this year will help drivers keep tabs on traffic along the main travel routes to State College. There is also alerts for each parking zone; West Zone (access via Atherton Street to Park Avenue); East Zone (access via U.S. 322/I-99 to Park Avenue); North Zone (access via Fox Hollow Road); and South Zone (access via University Drive and Porter Road from College Avenue/U.S. 26.

“Our goal is to help motorists plan ahead by providing them with as much information as possible,” PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll said. “By providing this real-time information, motorists can more easily plan the route that works best for them.”

The average travel time for the main route, along with other ones will be provided, along with any incidents, construction, weather and other alerts.

There is road work in Centre County that travelers are expected to run into that may also add delays, including roadwork along Atherton Street, bridge work along I-80, and roadwork on a high-speed interchange between I-80 and I-99.
