WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (WBRE/WYOU) — Following the much-anticipated debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Former President Donald Trump, Harris will be making a campaign stop in Wilkes-Barre to rally voters later this week.

Details of the visit, set for this Friday, Sept. 13, will be released in the coming days.

    This Week in Pennsylvania

This is just one stop of many in swing states across the country to promote the “New Way Forward” Campaign.

Vice President Harris will be touching on a variety of topics, including a federal ban on price gouging on food, capping the cost of prescription drugs, ending the country’s affordable housing shortage, and her vision for strengthening our middle class.

In a statement put out by the campaign, Harris-Walz campaign Communications Director Michael Tyler says “With early voting about to begin and less than 60 days until Election Day, our campaign will take the vice president’s message directly to the voters wherever they are.”

The visit comes after Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff visited the Lehigh Valley this weekend.

Little debate that Pennsylvania is key as Harris and Trump prep for Philly showdown

Emhoff was in Allentown Saturday campaigning with Latino groups and leaders there, where the campaign says they highlighted “Harris’ plans to deliver for Latino families and strengthen the middle class.”

Harris’ running mate, Tim Walz, was also in Erie last week , just a week after Republican Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance stopped in the gem city.

Meanwhile, Trump just held a town hall at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, his third stop in the capital city this year, about a week after a rally in Cambria County.
