(WHTM) — What’s the right grade for your child to be in when you get them a library card?

York County Libraries think the answer is – no later than the first grade. It has a program called “GOAL” – which stands for “Grade One At the Library.”

Kids can get a library card and special prizes for their first three visits to York County Libraries.

“Children are very curious,” Director of Youth Services for York County Libraries Mindy McDonnell said. “They love to explore. they love to learn. and what better place to do that than the library? It doesn’t matter what you’re interested in. Maybe you love dinosaurs. maybe you love science or art. We have something for you.”
