DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A teenager is facing attempted homicide and other charges after police say he pointed a gun at a minor at a birthday party in Dauphin County.

Lower Paxton Township Police said that 16-year-old Liam McMillen, of Camp Hill, is charged as an adult with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a minor. He is locked up in Dauphin County Prison with his bail denied, online court dockets show.

McMillen showed up uninvited to the party, at the 2700 block of English Court in the Harrisburg area, and pointed a gun at a juvenile after getting into a brief verbal argument, according to police. He then left the scene before police were dispatched just before 10:30 p.m.

According to the charging documents, McMillen got upset about a comment that was made about him and pulled out a gun, then pointed it at the juvenile, and pulled the trigger, but the gun jammed. Police were able to watch a video of the incident and spoke with witnesses at the scene.

No one was injured in the incident, police said.

Originally, McMillen was charged as a minor on Sept. 15 after being taken into custody but police said they continued to investigate and filed an additional charge of attempted homicide. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 27.

This is one of the ways illegal guns get into minors hands in Harrisburg. They come from across the river. NOT ALL GUNS!!
