(WHTM) — Polaris has officially recalled two different vehicles, totaling more than 20,000 units nationwide, due to fire hazards.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Polaris has recalled about 10,300 2023-2024 Polaris Sportsman 850, XP 1000, and XP 1000 S ATVs, and an additional 10,500 2024 RANGER XD 1500 and Crew XD 1500 Recreational Off-Road Vehicles.

Both of these recalls were put into effect due to fire hazards.

CPSC says the 2023-2024 Polaris Sportsman 850, XP 1000, and XP 1000 S ATVs can leak fuel at the fuel pump flange outlet, which poses a fire hazard and risk of serious injury to the rider or passenger. This ATV was sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from July 2023 through June 2024 for between $10,600 and $18,000.

To date, the firm has received 14 reports of fuel leaking from the recalled ATVs, as well as three reports of fires. No injuries have been reported.

Consumers who own the recalled ATV are told to immediately stop using the vehicle and contact an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair to replace the fuel pump. Polaris is also contacting owners of the 2023-2024 Sportsman 850, XP 1000, and XP 1000 S ATV as well.

The recall number for the ATV is 24-369

According to CPSC, the second Polaris recall was initiated for about 10,500 of the 2024 RANGER XD 1500 and RANGER CREW XD 1500 ROVs and 1,336 winches. This model Polaris is being recalled because the winch wiring can overheat while in use, which poses a fire hazard.

This Polaris ROV was sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from February 2023 through August 2024 for between $40,000 and $50,500.
