    What to know, what to do at 169th Bloomsburg Fair

    BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (WBRE/WYOU) — The 169th Bloomsburg Fair is almost here, and there are many things you may need to know about the upcoming special event.

    According to the Bloomsburg Fair website , the fair is set to begin with a Preview Day on Friday, September 20, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with some buildings and vendors closed for that day.

    On Saturday, September 21, the Bloomsburg Fair fully kicks off and will continue until Saturday, September 28 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Weather may impact opening and closing times.

    You can find the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds at 900 West Main St in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania .

    You can purchase tickets to the fair from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from Saturday, September 21, to Saturday, September 28.

    • Adults (13 years old and older) for $8
    • Children (12 years old and younger) for FREE

    You can also purchase tickets ahead of time online or by going to the ticket office at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.

    The price of admission does not include parking or any events happening on the fairgrounds.

    Are there any ticket discounts?

    During Preview Day on Friday, September 20, tickets will be sold for a reduced price of $3.

    Later in the week on Monday, September 23, seniors citizens 65 years old older can enjoy the Bloomsburg Fair for free. Senior Day is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lottery .

    The following day on Tuesday, September 24, students between 13 and 18 years of age can attend the fair for free for Student Day, and for each general admission ticket purchase of $8, $1 will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Danville.

    On Wednesday, September 25, members of the United States Military, both past and present with valid identification, can enjoy the fair for free. Military Day is sponsored by the Kohrs Orangeade.

    Finally, on Friday, September 27, there will be a second Student Day where students between 13 and 18 years old can attend the fair for free.

    You can also purchase advance tickets at participating Weis Markets for $7, or a pack of eight tickets for $30 until September 28.

    If I have a ticket to a show at the fair, will I also need an admission ticket?

    If you have a ticket to a Grandstand show at the fair, you will also need to get a fair admission ticket. However, Grandstand Concert tickets include one gate admission ticket for only the concert. You can find further information on tickets online .

    Where can I park?

    Residents can park in the main lot for the fairgrounds, which can be found at 980 W. Main Street in Bloomsburg. The cost to park in the main lot for cars and trucks is $5 while transportation buses can park for free. You can buy parking tickets ahead of time at the ticket office at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds.

    Rabbit Transit is also offering ride services from Monday to Friday for $2 per ride between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

    Can I camp at the fairgrounds?

    The Bloomsburg Fair has RV parking available in their camping lots for $40 a night on a first-come, first-served basis for lots. Some lots have water, electric, and sewer hookups available.

    While not necessary, pre-registration is encouraged as spaces are limited.

    There are some rules for those camping on the fairgrounds.

    • Quiet times are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
    • Pets are allowed in the camping area, but NO PETS are allowed on the fairgrounds.
    • No fire rings, fire pits, or open fires allowed.
    • No dumping waste tanks on the ground, please use designated waste area.
    • Vehicle capacity is limited for large events with one vehicle maximum per site.
    • Generators are allowed but must be turned off at 10:00 p.m. and can be restarted at 7:00 a.m.

    You can download and fill out the Fair Week Camping Application or the Special Event Camping Application , and mail it to 620 West 3rd Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815, or email it to admissions@bloomsburgfair.com .

    Where are the restrooms?

    There are seven restrooms that can be found all across the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds for attendees to use.

    • Next to Freedom Hall
    • At the intersection of 7th Street and “B” Avenue near the Arts and Crafts Hall
    • On “A” Avenue next to the racetrack by Gate Nine
    • Two restrooms next to Gate Eight
    • Adjacent to the Yonderway Building by Gate Five
    • Next to the Historic Exhibition Barn towards Gate Three

    Where can medical professionals be found if there’s an emergency?

    There are two first aid tents that can be found at the Bloomsburg Fair, one on “A” Avenue next to the Skyride, and the other at the intersection of 3rd Street and “C” Avenue.

    Where can I find an ATM?

    If you run out of cash while enjoying the fair, you can find a yellow ATM with the Bloomsburg Fair logo near most buildings.

    What accommodations can be found at the fair for those with disabilities?

    Scooters, wagons, and wheelchairs can be rented out on a first-come, first-served basis through Stillwater Scooter at Main Gates Three and Five from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

    Prices vary on how long renters take them out and if renters decide to stay longer than their original estimate, they’ll charge an additional $5 per hour. There are no refunds for early returns.

    • Three hours for $25
    • Five hours for $35
    • Eight hours for $50
    • 12 hours for $65

    Manual wheelchairs and wagons to pull kids can be rented out for only $15 for the day.

    While Stillwater Scooter has a large inventory, a waiting list will be created in the event scooters run out and crews will work to get those who need a scooter as soon as they can.

    If fair attendees need handicapped parking, they can find it in the front of the main parking lot between Gates Three and Five. Those with a handicap placard will be guided by parking lot staff to the area.

    Traffic, road closures announced for Bloomsburg Fair

    Available spots may be limited on days when there are a lot of people at the fair.

    Fair attendees with severe handicaps can be dropped off at Gate Three where they can wait at provided benches while the car or truck is parked in the main lot.

    For seating at the Grandstand, there are special sections for those in wheelchairs and motorized carts. Motorized carts and wheelchairs can’t sit in the aisles. Tickets for the handicapped seating cannot be bought online and you’ll need to visit the Grandstand Ticket Office or give them a call at (570) 387-4145.

    Can I bring my pet to the fair?

    Sadly for families with a furry, scaly, or feathered companion, pets are not allowed at the fair, excluding service animals. Fairground guests who have a service animal must keep them on a leash or harness and retain control of their animal at all times while at the fair.

    Where can I find my favorite vendor?

    All of the streets are numbered and labeled like a town or city street would be. The streets are labeled 1st to 12th Street and A to F Avenue. Each vendor will have an address that can be found on the Bloomsburg Fair website.

    If you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, or your savory tooth at a particular vendor, you can find the full list of vendors and even new vendors to the fair online.

    Who will be playing at the Bloomsburg Fair?

    There will be plenty of musicians playing and events to enjoy at the 2024 Bloomsburg Fair. Many shows will be taking place at the Grandstand , which can be found by Gate Eight next to the racetrack.

    Tickets for each event can be purchased online, by paying them a visit at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds Grandstand Box Office, or by calling (570) 387-4145.

    On Friday, September 20, The Beach Boys will be playing at the Grandstand with tickets going for $33 to $57.

    The following night, you’ll find Riley Green on stage with special guest John Morgan . You can buy tickets ranging from $35 to $60.

    You can also find the Casting Crowns at the Grandstand with special guest David Leonard on Sunday, September 22 with tickets on sale for $27 to $47.

    Bachman-Turner Overdrive will also be playing with special guest Foghat at the Grandstand on Monday, September 23 with tickets going from $36 to $57.

    If music isn’t what you come to the fair for, attendees can also buy tickets for $15 for the Bullride Mania on Tuesday, September 24, as riders go up against a bull weighing more than a ton.

    To hear the roar of engines, tickets can be purchased for $14 to $16 for the Modified Truck Derby & Dennis “Pork” Young Memorial Figure 8 Racing event on Wednesday, September 25.

    Continuing the excitement, fair attendees can enjoy drag racing at the KOI Drag Racing event on Thursday, September 26. This is a general admission event, but for those interested, you can buy tickets to the Grandstand for $10.

    For $15, you can enjoy the Unlimited Tough Trucks and Monsters on Friday, September 27. From 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., you can get a close look at the monster trucks at the “Pit Party” on the track.

    On the final day of the Bloomsburg Fair, there are two events that will happen throughout the day if you don’t get enough of metal-on-metal action.

    The first event happening on Saturday will be the Championship Demo Derby where fairgoers can pay between $14 to $20 for tickets.

    Later that day, the final event of the Bloomsburg Fair on Saturday will be the Championship Pulling Series, or “The Big Rigs Series Finals ,” for $14 to $20.

    Can I take a ride on a hot air balloon at the fair?

    Lancaster Balloon Rides will be offering rides at the Bloomsburg Fair this year with flights, and tethered rides, and even feature a “nighttime glow” where you can enjoy the illuminated balloons.

    You can ride early in the morning for $375 or in the afternoon for $400, weather permitting.
