(WHTM) — Trusting elections is currently a hot topic, especially with the upcoming Presidential Election just a few weeks away.

“Two-thirds of all Americans believe U.S. Democracy is under threat, only 47% of Americans trust the accuracy and integrity of elections completely or a lot,” said Matthew Haar, Harrisburg Managing Partner at Saul Ewing. “The crisis of trust in our election is bigger than just one party. Both Republican and Democratic voters have expressed doubt in the system.”

In an effort to put some faith back into elections, state officials and members of the public gathered at Widener University Commonwealth Law School on Monday night for a “Trust in Our Elections: A Community Conversation” forum.

“So many people having questions about elections,” added Al Schmidt, the Pa Secretary of State.

Questions surrounding a variety of concerns, including mail-in ballots and overall election security.

“There is an incredible amount of security that goes into that day,” Cumberland County Commissioner Jean Foschi added.

At the end of the day, the state officials want the public to have trust in the election process.

“Elections are something we should celebrate,” Schmidt said.

Robert Graci, the former Pa. Superior Court Judge added, “Now, some people will never come around, but there are a lot of people who want to believe in the system, who want to believe that it works.”

I have been voting since 1976. In those years, the only times I ever heard that the election was not safe was when trumpy said it in 2020!!!

With Republicans talking about protecting voting, I think the FBI needs to monitor conversations and emails with elected officials and candidates in case Republicans try to get election officials to change voting numbers like Trump did in the last election. And, with over 200 traitors in seven states trying to be fake electors, we need the FBI to keep a close eye on election officials in the Republican Party for trying to cheat.
