FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A motorcyclist was killed after falling off their bike in a Franklin County crash, State Police say.

David Newell, 42, of Orrstown, died from his injuries in the crash that happened on Sept. 1, before 11 p.m. on Orrstown Road at the intersection with Blind Lane in Southampton Township, State Police at Chambersburg said in a crash report on Tuesday.

While riding a 2002 Harley-Davidson Road King, Newell crossed the double yellow lines and hit a guide rail, Troopers said.

He then ended up falling off the bike and hit guide rail posts, sustaining fatal injuries, the crash report states. The Harley-Davidson continued going through a field, and even crossing a culvert before it came to a stop. It had to be towed from the scene.

just to clear things up, Dave was riding with a gentleman from st.thomas. they were on an ABATE ride that say, both were drinking, they got into each other causing the accident. the other gentleman left the scene and later crashed into a cemetery. I know this because dave was my younger brother. R.I.P little brother, you will be missed. he was a great man, hard worker, always smiling, great little brother.
