DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The grave marker of a 2018 Harrisburg City shooting victim was stolen in the summer from a Dauphin County cemetery and police say a Harrisburg man is now facing charges.

Anthony Reyes-Pabon, 24, of Harrisburg, is accused of stealing the bronze grave marker from the Howard Day Cemetery, located at 801 Lincoln Street in Steelton, in July, according to the charges filed by Swatara Township Police.

The large bronze marker was worth about $6,000 and had been attached to a large base that was dug up, according to the criminal complaint.

A photo showing the grave marker with the words “come get yall man” along with guns, marijuana, and cigarettes was uploaded to Reyes-Pabon social media around the time of the theft, police said in the complaint.

Department of Corrections officials later contacted police in August about an ongoing investigation involving an inmate, who was on a phone call with Reyes-Pabon.

Police said that in the recorded phone call, Reyes-Pabon allegedly admitted to an inmate at SCI Camp Hill that he dug up the gravestone.

Reyes-Pabon faces a felony charge of institutional vandalism and misdemeanor charges of theft and intentionally desecrating venerated objects.

Reyes-Pabon is locked up in Dauphin County Prison with bail set at $100,000 and awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 8.
