(WHTM) — Bishop McDevitt’s star quarterback now owns the record for passing touchdowns in Pennsylvania high school football.

On the second play from scrimmage, Stone Saunders — a Kentucky commit — found Dominic Diaz-Ellis for 38 yards for his 177th career touchdown.

McDevitt makes history, avoids upset in battle with Altoona in Week 6

Saunders entered Friday’s game against Altoona tied with Alex Erby and now owns the record outright.

He set the school record for all-time passing yards last season.

Saunders’ squad narrowly defeated Altoona Friday night 28-21.

Friday Night Football returns for its 28th season on abc27 for the 2024 football season! Started in 1997 by longtime abc27 Sports Director Gregg Mace, FNF was the first of its kind in Central PA.

Back in 2018, the show was expanded to 45 minutes of highlights, analysis and reaction. It remains the longest show in the Midstate highlighting high school football for thirteen weeks of the season.
