DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Almost $1 million worth of hay burned up in the massive fire at a Dauphin County farm in September.

It was determined that $800,000 worth of hay burned up in the huge fire at Haldeman Farms, located at the 500 block of Trail Road in East Hanover Township, on Sept. 10, State Police at Harrisburg wrote Thursday in a news release.

It took multiple crews hours to battle the fire that could be seen more than 10 miles away. Firefighters were called to the fire around 11 p.m. and didn’t get it under control till 8:30 a.m. The PA Air National Guard was also called to assist with battling the blaze.

The hay was supposed to be used at Mushroom Farms.

This was the second fire at Haldeman Farms, as two sheds in 2011 burned up in a fire.
