Local gelato shop owner gets 2nd in worldwide competition

(WHTM) — We have an update on an international competition.

Kim Zanni of Gelato Di Babbo in Hummelstown, went to Italy to compete against 34 of the best gelato makers in the world.

And guess what?

She came in second place in what she describes as an “iron chef” type of challenge.

“I got second place, beating out the Italians,” Gelato Di Babbo owner Kim Zanni. “So when people say the best gelato is in Italy now, I can say it’s also here, too.”

Zanni also came in fourth place for this gelato — vegan chocolate hazelnut with raspberry sauce.

Now that she’s back stateside, Gelato Di Babbo will be open both days this weekend from three to eight.
