Officials say it’s taken a lot of work to get to this point.

“It’s awesome,” Executive Director for Lancaster Airport Authority Ed Foster said. “It really is. Been waiting on this for a couple of years. And here it is. It worked out. The weather is perfect. The crowd coming in. Some are escaping Florida, but 134 passengers on a first flight. That’s a record. Only had three empty seats. So not so many going out. But who wants to go chase a storm on an airplane.”

Flights to Orlando will be on Thursdays and Sundays moving forward.
