LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A construction flagger is dead after being struck by an SUV in Lancaster County on Thursday morning, according to the coroner’s office.

Crews were dispatched to the intersection of Stone Mill Road and Plymouth Road in Manor Township at 7:37 a.m. for a report of a roadworker being struck by a vehicle, the county’s emergency supervisor said.

The coroner’s office was called to the scene and found the victim, a 56-year-old woman construction flagger, on the ground. She was then pronounced deceased.

The coroner says the victim was working on the road when she was struck by an SUV. The victim’s identity is being withheld until her family is properly notified.

The cause of death is pending, per the coroner.

She was transported to Lancaster County Forensic Center for further investigation.
