(WHTM) — Utility crews from Pennsylvania are on their way to Florida to help out with restoration efforts after the Sunshine State was hit by Hurricane Milton.

PPL sent 40 electric lineworkers and support personnel, along with 40 contractor lineworkers from Allentown, down to Florida Wednesday to help Florida Light & Power, according to a news release.

The crews that PPL sent to Georgia to help with restoration after Hurricane Helene are headed back to Pennsylvania.

Since PPL is a part of the Southeast Electric Exchange and the North Atlantic Mutual Assistance Group, they can call upon other utility crews for help, and vice versa.
